Eurofins Control Ambiental is located in the centre of Asturias, between the cities of Oviedo and Gijón. We decided to carry out the sampling in a residential area of the city of Gijón. The sampling point is surrounded by different local roads as it can be seen in the picture of Google Earth. This location is next to some highways and industries. There are two highways (A8 and AS-1) from a distance about 1km and 1.5 km respectively. There is a cement factory at a distance of 6 km, and a large steel factory at 7 km. We have the Musel harbour (one of the biggest in northern Spain) about 6.3 km away from the sampling location.

meteorological conditions

The sampling was carried out between 11th and 17th of july. The meteorological conditions can be consulted in the table bellow. We had temperaturas over 19- 22ºC all the days, no rain and a %humidity between 70-90%.

sampling system

The first day, the sampling bottles were filled with 500 ml of ultrapure water. Each day we added about 100-150 ml to each funnel to ensure particle collection. In the picture bellow we can see the sampling system:
